Style Showcase: Anna

Today's post is all about Anna. Anna writes a lifestyle blog over at annaapricot.blogspot.comShe is a busy, busy college student and just got back from a study abroad in London and is now looking for a job. She says, "I love putting together my outfit each morning, but I could probably tell you more about football than the average guy could. I love just hanging out with my friends and family. My blog is where I write about everything in my life. There is no telling what I will post on any given day. I’m just having fun trying to make the most of life!"

Her Outfits-This is the perfect example of my go-to outfit. I love wearing jeans and a button up shirt, especially my chambray one. I could wear this outfit just about anywhere and feel super comfortable.

Top- J. Crew Factory. Jeans- Gap. Shoes- Toms.

Outfit 2- I am obsessed with these green Antropologie pants. I feel like they make this outfit so unique.
Sweater- J Crew. Pants- Anthropologie. Shoes- Toms. Hair bow- Etsy- Meggie’s Love

Her Personal Style- My style is about trying to look like I came right out of a J Crew catalog without paying the price. Stripes, polka dots, and bird patterns are becoming an obsession. I also have an addiction to sequins. If something has sequins on it, I buy it about 98% of the time. But don’t get me wrong, I am all about a sweatshirt and jeans too.

Her Fashion Secrets- Always wear clothes you are confident in. Even if you are wearing the cutest outfit in the world, if you don’t like it you won’t look good in it. Just wear what you love even if people don’t agree with you. You will always look your best if you are confident about your outfit. Also get a great pair of jeans. Jeans can make or break and outfit. Gap jeans have always been my favorite and they don’t cost an arm and a leg.

Her Celebrity Icon- Emma Stone. Her outfits are always amazing. She always looks classy but has a good amount of sass in there too.

Her Beauty Must Have- My beauty must have is eye liner. I only wear a little bit but it
makes my eyes look so much more defined. Wouldn’t leave the house without it.

Thanks for sharing your marvelous style, Anna!

Feel-Good Friday

This week's feel-good Friday comes from a little old lady and a little old man. I was doing my grocery shopping at Sprout's this week (shakin' it up thanks to this cousin of mine) and Jack (my baby) and I were waiting in the checkout line. A little old man stopped to comment how cute he was. I said "Thank you" and asked him how he was doing. His response really touched me when he said, motioning to his wife, "We are doing well. Life is good. We are blessed."

Style Showcase: Jessica

Today's Style Showcase is all about Jessica. Jessica is a wife to a wonderful dude of almost 7 years & mother of the 2 cutest kids on the planet. She works one day a week as a speech-language pathologist for a local school district. She says, "I love to find tasty recipes and pretend to be a good cook (I’m just a good recipe finder thanks to Pinterest), play with family, watch movies, shop, and I sometimes pretend to be crafty."

Hair- Ponytail Monday. Shirt- Shade. Skirt- Shade. Belt- 10 years old. Necklace- F21. Sandals- Target. Earrings-made by me.

Her Personal Style- Relaxed preppy. I work part time, but I’m mostly at home. I try to buy things that I can easily wear at both places (and believe me when I say I wear jeans at work). When I’m at home, I’m being barfed on by a 6 month old and chasing around a dirt covered 2 year old all day. I buy things that are machine washable but will still look adorable 20 washes from now. I try to find items that are sassy and classic but comfortable. I think ballet flats and sandals are a girl’s best friend (except for on Sundays when sassy heels and painful feet are a must). Incorporating bright or showy accent pieces are the best way to sassify an otherwise boring outfit.

Her Celebrity Icon- Kate Middleton. She is completely classic, yet edgy in her own sophisticated sort of way.

Her go-to outfit- T-shirt (or comfortable equivalent), jeans, adorable shoes, and super fun jewelry. Keep the outfit simple and use accessories to make the outfit super cute. In the summer, skirts are my go-to clothing item, even if I have the pastiest legs on the planet. I think I’m entitled to be extremely white because I’m a redhead.

Her fashion secrets- I try to incorporate animal print into many of my outfits. Maybe it’s
a little overkill or maybe it’s super awesome. I can’t decide. I love animal print, and it’s the quickest way to make you look adorable. Plus, it goes with everything. I often try to include a little animal print in my outfit via cardigans, earrings, shoes, belts, etc. Leopard: matches nothing but goes with everything (my motto). If I don’t feel like wearing animal print, big earrings are a must. They can take an otherwise boring outfit up a notch (or 10).

Thanks Jessica for sassifying the blogosphere today! (Love that new word)
