Fashion Star Finale

Am I the only one who thinks the season ended too quickly, and I'm still dreaming about the Jessica Simpson fashion show. Much deserved win by Kara. She has been the most consistent over the season, although they are all amazingly talented. Let's take a look at what Kara has done on the first ever Fashion Star.

Week 1 began with a hiccup

but she came back with a bang, quickly becoming a Sak's favorite.

until finally selling to both Macy's and Sak's in last week's epsiode, and winning it all this week. Three brand new collections are now available at H&M, Macy's, and Sak's

The conclusion of Fashion Star does leave me with one burning question: What am I going to watch now?

Fashion Star Recap

Oh reality TV always keeping us on our toes. : ) Were you surprised that Orly sold three items, Nzimiro sold none, and yet he stayed? I still don't really get why they had to send so many home this week. They're all so talented. I loved Orly's jacket and that's pretty amazing that Nikki made her dress fabric by piecing it together. I didn't understand why Ronnie's dress was bought, but then again I don't understand the hype over Ronnie at all. Maybe he will prove me wrong next week! For your viewing pleasure: the winning looks.

Ponytail Monday

Ponytail Monday was invented way back when in high school. Something about a long and fun weekend and then back to the daily grind on Monday. My sister and I would come out of our rooms and realize we were both wearing ponytails. Then we would pick up our friends on the way to school and they were all wearing ponytails too! Enter ponytail Monday. Here are a few ideas to dress up your plain ponytail.

1. Braid it.
French braiding the front pieces is a great way to spice up a ponytail and keep your bangs out of your face.

2. Wrap it.
Simply leave a small strand of hair out of the ponytail, wrap it around to hide the elastic, and pin or tuck then end of the piece into the elastic. Voila, instant style.

3. Twist it.
There are two ways to achieve this look. You can either twist the hair back, pin it, and then combine into a ponytail, or leave two sections out, pull into a ponytail and then twist and pin. The secret to this style is keeping the untwisted hair sleek and smooth.

4. Accessorize it!
Accessories are a great way to add personality to any hair-do and it takes almost no extra time. Bows, flowers, glitter, headbands, the options are endless.

5. Dip dye it!
LC and team recently shared a how-to for this style on their blog and she pulled it off beautifully. This is a great way to add pizazz to a ponytail and using a washable or semi-permanant product will give you all the attention without the commitment.

What do you think? What ways do you change up your ponytail? Would you try a bright hair color or a dip dye?
