Summer is officially here, although the heat tells us it has been here for a while. All it takes to survive the summer heat is a pool nearby and bonus points for a pina colada in hand. Let's take a look at 2013's hottest swimwear trends and don't forget to check out
this post all about loving your swimsuit.
Retro Inspired
Take a time machine to the 1950's with a retro inspired swimsuit. The boy short is the perfect style for someone looking for a little more coverage and purchasing this one would support Jessica Rey and her fabulous
video we all can't get enough of.
Graphic Prints
Why not try summer's hottest print in swimsuit form? This fun and flirty suit will flatter any figure and is sure to turn heads wherever you go.
Mix & Match
For a bold look try mixing and matching your tops and bottoms. You will get twice the wear out of your beach attire and can also utilize strategic dressing to best flatter your figure. Try bright colors and bold prints on the portion of your figure you want to highlight and subdued colors on the portion you want to minimize.
Emerald
Bringing Pantone's color of the year into your swimwear is sure to keep your look on trend, whether displayed in the whole piece or highlighting accents. This color flatters most skin tones and is a fresh look for summer.
Albion FitDon't forget to finish off your ensemble with accessories. The perfect hat, cover up, and tote will tie your look together.
This cloche has been my go-to hat for summer. The small brim resembles the ease of a fedora but with a slightly more feminine feel. Plus I get to pretend I'm on the set of The Great Gatsby : )
The perfect cover-up is multi-purpose. It has a breezy feel for daytime to wear at the beach, and can easily transition to an evening out to dinner by adding a light sweater and a statement necklace.
A beach bag is considered a trend item. Between carrying snacks, wet suits, and the occasional sand, this purchase is almost guaranteed to last you only one swimming season, and two if you're lucky. So while I can dream about this one it's better to save my money so there is no need to cry when it gets soiled with sunscreen.
