My mom taught me the best way to appreciate a present is to use it, so the second time Scott tried to gift me an Apple Watch I accepted. I was concerned that my new watch would have me too connected with technology and I’d grown to like my practice of leaving my phone in the other room. I was determined to make this device work for me and even though it wasn’t on my wish list, I’ve grown to love my Apple watch. Read on for the top three reasons I love my Apple Watch
The movement rings- The activity app on the apple watch monitors three components of motion- movement, stand, and exercise. As each daily goal is achieved a neon circle animation displays on the watch rewarding me for completing my goal. Watching those rings close each day brings a thrill that will make anyone excited to be more active.
The calendar on my home screen. If an event isn’t in my calendar, I will forget. For years I’ve utilized the calendar on my phone but having it always connected to my wrist reminds me of where I need to be and when. My favorite watch screen displays my next event of the day to help me plan my day according to what’s coming next.
My Apple Watch helps me to disconnect from my phone. What?! Could it be that the opposite was true of the very thing I feared the most? Yes! My phone calls and messages come through on my watch. This means if someone urgently needs to get a hold of me, I’m available. I still keep my phone away and can return messages and check social media on my time.
I never expected to love my Apple Watch but now it’s the first accessory I put on in the morning. The funny thing about gifts is when they are thoughtfully chosen by people who know us well, they just might become our new favorite thing.
